Our History
" If you don't know where you've come from, you don't know where you're going." - Maya Angelou
Founding Members
The Latino Social Workers of Greater Houston (LSWGH) was founded with a profound commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by the Latino community in the Greater Houston area. Stemming from a shared vision of empowering and uplifting the Latino population, the founding members recognized the pressing need for culturally competent and linguistically sensitive social services. Their journey began with a resolute determination to bridge the gaps in social work and advocate for equitable opportunities, accessible resources, and inclusive support for Latinos.
